B' Boys and C' Boys
5/2 (Fri)'s match has been pushed back all the way to 15/2 (Mon).
I will be issuing the B' Boys and C' Boys a new piece of excuse letter with the updated fixture.

Expectations for 2016 West Zone Inter-school Badminton Championship + A message from Zoey

Key Expectations

• Players will be representing the school in this competition and are expected to be on their best behavior at all times. Any misconduct during the competition may result in a bar from competition.
• Players must take the arranged transport from school to competition venue.
• Players to observe good sportsmanship at all times during competition.
• Players are to be seated (on the floor) behind the baseline of our allocated court to watch and support their teammates who are playing.
• Players must ask for permission from Teacher-in-charge or Captain if he/ she needs to be excused to the washroom or the water cooler.
• Players must take the arranged transport from competition venue back to school.

What is going to happen on the day of your match;

On the day of your match,
(Please refer to your fixtures)

At 1pm - Request for permission from teacher to be excused from class to have your lunch and prepare for the upcoming match.

1pm to 1.30pm - Have your lunch in the school's canteen and change into your sports attire.

1.30pm to 2pm -  Journey to competition venue

2pm to 2.30pm - Warm up for competition

2.30pm to 5pm* - Matches

5pm to 5.30pm** - Journey back to school

At 5.30pm - Debrief and dismissal from school

When you reach home - Find out from your classmates on the lesson/ homework that you had missed.

* Note that matches may drag pass 5pm depending on the match up.
** Note that there may be delay to the dismissal time depending on traffic conditions.

Additional duties

As part of the requirement set by the organisers,

• All teachers are required to carry out Umpiring duties and,
• All players are required to carry out Line Judge duties on the days that the school are scheduled to play.

Line Judge - The primary duty of a Line Judge is to assist the Umpire on judging if a shuttle has landed inside or outside of the area of play.

For players (Especially for those who had just joined us) who needs a refresher on the rules of badminton, you can now refer to "Rules of Badminton" page under the "Page" section to refresh yourself with some teaching videos that I had picked out from YouTube.

Last but not least, a message from Zoey,

"In preparation for the upcoming competition, Zoey wishes to remind all the juniors to remember to practice at home and to get familiarised with the rules of badminton."

Change in training venue and timing for 21/01/2015 (Thu)

Please take note that the venue and time for the following Thursday's (21st Jan 2016) training have been changed because the MPH will not be available.

Training date: 21/01/2016

Venue has been changed to Jurong East Sports Complex.

Timing has been changed to 1500-1800.

As you guys should have figured it by now, term 1 is the competition season for not just for our badminton. It is also the competition season for our volley team, table tennis team and floor ball team and there is bound to be some conflicts over the training venues but please do not be distressed by this.

As my ultimate wish is for all of you to be able to focus 100% on the limited training that we have before the start of our competition so that we can be in our best condition to play. And may I add that I am really looking forward to see you all play.

So, please focus and take your training seriously, while the teachers and coaches sort out the administrative part for both the upcoming zonal competition and training.

"As part of the preparation for the upcoming competition, please retrain yourself from taking fast food and soft drinks."

Welcome back to school!

We will be having our first CCA meeting this Wednesday, 3 pm - 5 pm, @ ITR 3.

Training schedule has been updated until the end of February and can be accessed from the page section.

Do take note that we will be participating in the West Zone Badminton Champion which will be happening in Term 1.

I have also removed the "Record for boys" and "Record for girls" pages.
